are some of our discoveries, produced by other designers, that we'd like to
share with you. Some people call them products, we call them 'ART'.
Clockwork Pencil Sharpener
A pencil sharpener with
the traditional look of a wind-up key for clockwork mechanisms. Nickel plated
steel for a deliberate work-shop-tool aesthetic. The oversize handle makes
sharpening your favourite pencils a breeze.
The iconic action of winding a clock reminds us that the death of analogue technology isn't all it's cracked up to be – Sure it means we can carry our entire music collections around in our pockets and show the world photographs of our dinner. But there's a certain tangible satisfaction missing from many of our everyday interactions. To combat the relentless drive of forward-thinking technology, we've adapted trusted traditional methods to create a brilliant new product.

A'N'D S/S 2013 collection 'ready to wear'
Azumi and David’s S/S2013
collection titled ‘ready to wear’
expands on concepts from their ‘keep it
surreal’ A/W2012 collection.
In an exploration of Western conventions of dress,
A‘N’D develop new ways of perceiving and wearing a ‘garment’.
Original printed fabrics display ‘patterns’ of
clothing piles in a variety of colours and textures.
‘Ready to wear’ digital prints are structured into
optical illusion garments – elegant silk dresses, capes and scarves, which are
complemented with subtly distorted jewellery, bags and accessories.
Surreal everyday design which is A‘N’D’s signature
style.

Azumi and David (A'N'D) AW12-13 collection - Paris Fashion Week showroom
Azumi and David’s AW2012-13 collection ‘keep it surreal’ draws inspiration from the book ‘The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat’ by neurologist, Oliver Sacks. Keep it surreal will challenge your perceptions of everyday normality by confronting you with distorted visual interventions using digitally printed garments and accessories, subtly mutated leather items such as bags and wallets, gold and silver-plated objet trouvé jewellery, subverted familiarity using trompe l'oeil illusions to propose multiple interpretations of reality.
